Criteria & FAQs

 

Here at FIB Academy USA, We have students ranging from high-school graduates to mature business owners and service professionals. Whoever you are, there is a design course suited for you.

What are the entry criteria for FIB Academy USA?

  • You must be at least 18 years old although it is generally recommended that candidates should be 20 or over.

  • You must have an awareness of language and a competence in English, both written and spoken, that enables the course to be undertaken successfully.

  • You must have the potential to develop the necessary skills to become an effective butler and to successfully complete the written assignments and butler practice.

  • Only candidates that have formal qualifications which would allow entry into higher-level courses.

  • A Professionally written Resume must be presented with all application'S.

  • Resume must include Pass Qualification'S Certifications, and experience.

 

Is there any practical work experience and if so, were what, and when?

 

Practical work experience is undertaking the real-life work of international butlers. Your work experience will need to be completed in at least one of the following five categories:

 

  • Hotels & Resorts

  • Restaurants or Catering  Management Companies

  • Cruise Ships

  • Household & Estates

  • Airlines & Villas

 

You will be responsible for sourcing your own working experience if you are taking our online courses, your work experience can be in just one of these technical service categories, or in more than one area. Either way, it must expose you to as many practical assignments, butler functions and/or clients, in as many different sectors as possible. Your work experience must also incorporate levels of responsibility that increase in depth and scope throughout the course of your training. You will need to accumulate at least 40 hours of practical work experience, completed as part of a three to nine months training agreement with an authorized training employer or principal.

 

What are the qualifications of the trainers?

How many graduates are currently working as butlers?

 

We had over 275 students. 85% of which were already working as a butler before taking our course. In countries, Such as South Africa, West Africa,  France, The United States of America, Jamaica, Mexico, and china just to name a few.

 

To what extent does FIB assist in placing graduates?

 

From time to time we have companies that approach us for students.

(We are not a placement company)  

 

Is there a student handbook setting out rights and expectations?

 

We have an International Platinum Service Handbook, Design with the help of some of the world's most rated professionals.

 

Does the training company have a complaints forum or refund policy?

Can I join the training from home or do I have to do it at the head office?

 

If you are the only delegate from your organization joining the training or joining on your own, you can join the training from anywhere you wish. Please make sure you have a reliable internet connection. 

 

Are online events available to students?

Online events are a big part of our long-distance learning training, It is open to students who already have experience but is in need of formal training certification. 

 

 

How long does the training last for, and will we get a break?

Our onsite training usually lasts for 1 to 15 days on our client's property (up to 3 Weeks/Business Days). A brake is a must for onsite training with two 10 minute coffee breaks and one 30 minute lunch break. We want you to enjoy your training. Therefore, we will provide refreshments and lunch where appropriate (unless otherwise specified in your joining instructions).

Our online events usually last for 3 to 9 months depending on the level of the courses; those courses are done on your own time.

 

Are online events simply a replica of the face-to-face events?

We personally think the online course is much harder than the onsite training. The online course has over 40 different assessments while the onsite courses only have 10-15.

 

Can international Students join online training? What about the time difference?

All international students should be able to join our online training, but please bear in mind the time difference. The majority of our online training events start at a time that is convent to you since you will be doing it on your own time, if indeed of assistants with course work feel free to contact us by phone or email, Colorado/USA time unless otherwise stated.

 

How interactive is online training?

 

Online training is often as interactive as face-to-face training, and on many occasions, you will be asked to complete activities and participate in the Q&A.  

 

How do I book a place on an online event?

To participate in our online training, please follow the usual booking process from our main application page. You'll receive detailed instructions on how to access the online platform after we have confirmed your place and you have received your joining instructions. 

 

Are the materials available?

Yes, you will be able to download the course presentation handout as soon as you log in to the course level event. We advise you print this out so that you can make notes. On some occasions, we may be able to email the materials to you.

 

Do you offer customized online training?

Yes, if you wish to arrange a customized onsite or online event, please contact our head office by phone or email for more information. 

 

Why do you have a limit on places?

We want to keep our face-to-face sessions as interactive as possible so that delegates get the most out of the workshop format. If the group becomes too large the training can become less interactive and hands-on. If an event is intended to be a lecture-style session, we will note this in the event details.

 

Will I have to pay a fee to attend an onsite international service training event?

Many of our international training events are offered to hotels & resorts. If there is a charge for attendance, details of the delegate fee will be advertised with the event in question.
